FrontBase is written in ANSI C. This ensures a stable cross-platform codebase and allows us to move FrontBase to new UNIX-based platforms with minimal effort. This offers FrontBase customers flexibility in development and deployment platforms. The FBCAccess client library is also written in ANSI C. Source code for FBCAccess is available by special request, so if you need to deploy FrontBase clients on platforms (such as PalmOS or PocketPC) where FrontBase servers have not been ported, you can.
